Title: Shrek: A King Giving Up The Kingdom For Friendship
1Shrek A King Giving Up The Kingdom For
Friendship
Message by Troy Pomeroy with Chad McComas And
adapted by Kathryn Lamberton
2The touching story-line in Shrek the Third is
about a person next in line for the kingship, yet
he has no desire to have the job.
Hed rather live in comfortable surroundings with
his friends. Friendships are so important for a
good life.
3Friendships are more important than position or
power. These never lead to true satisfaction
rather they only disappoint and leave one empty.
The following message about friendship reminds
us of some old stories of the power of friends
and it points us to the only true friend we can
count on.
4Sometimes friends care for us and look after us.
? They take us on their journeys and adventures
and put our needs and the honor of our friendship
above their own needs. ? And if were really
lucky, they may bail us out of trouble weve
gotten ourselves into.
5Other times, good friends empathize with our
trouble and bring comfort to us. ? This is
what friends do when they hear about all of your
troubles.
6What is Friendship?
- Friendship is when you know and understand
someone. You trust them and care for them. You
can count on that person.
7 Who are your Friends?
- Friends are people that you can trust.
- Friends are loyal. You can count on them to help
you. - Friends are people you know very well.
- Friends sometimes will tell you secrets because
they trust you.
8Losing a Friend
- If you lie to a friend you may lose them as a
friend. - Telling a friends secret my cause you to lose a
friend. - Not helping a friend when they need you can also
cause you to loose them as a friend.
9Making Friends
- To make a friend, just ask.
- Invite someone to join you in a game, at lunch,
or just to talk.
10Friends can also share such deep love,
commitment, and loyalty toward each other that
they refuse to be separated. ? How lucky you
are to have a friend that is always by your side!
