Title: Transfer Factor

1
Transfer Factor
The Most Powerful Immune Support Available Today
2
WHAT IS TRANSFER FACTOR?
  • Transfer Factors are not a drug, vitamin,
    mineral, herb or phytonutrients...
  • They are a scientific breakthrough.
  • Transfer Factor is a special molecule right in
our own bodies that can educate the immune system
in an amazing and unprecedented ways.

3
These molecules were first discovered in 1949 by
Dr. H. Sherwood Lawrence.
  • Transfer factors have been studied for decades by
    scientists
  • from all over the world, and thousands of studies
    exist.  They
  • RECOGNIZE invaders seeking to threaten your
    health.
  • RESPOND to invaders by educating your naive
immune cells about a present or potential danger
and passing on a plan for action. Boost your
immune response or balance it by suppressing an
OVERACTIVE immune system, such as in an
    AUTOIMMUNE disorder.
  • REMEMBER past invasions, allowing your body to
more quickly respond to similar health threats,
making the duration of an illness shorter.

4
  • IMPORTANT ORGANS OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEM

5
Since TF involves the immune system it is
important to know what the major organs are
involved in immune system.
6
1. THE THYMUS
  • The thymus is an organ located in the upper
anterior portion of the chest cavity. It is of
central importance in the maturation of T cells..
Immature lymphocytes leave the bone marrow and
find their way to the thymus where they are
educated to become matute T- lymphocytes.
  • A lymphocyte is a type of white blood cell in the
immune system. There are two broad categories of
    lymphocytes, namely the large granular
lymphocytes and the small lymphocytes. The large
granular lymphocytes are more commonly known as
the natural killer cellls (NK cells). The small
lymphocytes are the T cells and B cells.
Lymphocytes play an important and integral role
    in the body's defenses.

7
2. THE LIVER
  • The liver is an organ in some that plays a major
role in metabolism and has a number of functions
in the body including glycogen storage, plasma
    protein synthesis, and drug detoxification.
  • This organ also is the largest gland in the human
body and lies below the diaphragm in the thoracic
region of the abdomen. It produces bile (a
greenish liquid), which is important in
digestion. In addition it contains large numbers
of phagocytic cells which injest bacteria in the
blood as it passes through the liver.

8
3. THE BONE MARROW
  • Bone marrow (or medulla ossea) is the soft tissue
found in the hollow interior of bones. It is the
place where most new blood cells are produced.
There are two types of bone marrow red marrow
(also known as myeloid tissue) and yellow marrow.
  • Red blood cells, platelets and most white blood
cells arise in red marrow some white blood cells
develop in yellow marrow. The color of yellow
marrow is due to the much higher number of fat
cells. Both types of bone marrow contain numerous
    blood vessels and capillaries.
  • The bone marrow is the location where all cells
of the immune system begin their development from
    primitive stem cells.

9
4. THE TONSILS
  • The tonsils are areas of lymphoid tissue on
either side of the throat. As with other organs
of the lymphatic system, the tonsils act as part
of the immune system to help protect against
    infection.
  • In particular, they are believed to be involved
in helping fight off pharyngeal and upper
    respiratory tract infections.

10
5. THE LYMPH NODES
  • Lymph nodes are components of the lymphatic
system. They are a collection of B- lymphocytes
    and T- lymphocytes .
  • Lymph nodes act as filters, with an internal
honeycomb of reticular connective tissue filled
with lymphocytes that collect and destroy
bacteria and viruses. When the body is fighting
an infection, lymphocytes multiply rapidly and
produce a characteristic swelling of the lymph
    nodes.
  • Human lymph nodes are bean-shaped and range in
size from a few millimeters to about 1-2 cm in
their normal state. They may also become enlarged
    due to a tumor.

11
6. THE SPLEEN
  • The spleen is an organ of the abdomen, where it
functions in the destruction of old red blood
cells and holding a reservoir of blood. It is
regarded as one of the centers of activity of the
    immune system.
  • The spleen is a collection of T- and B-
lymphocytes, The human spleen is located in the
upper left part of the abdomen, behind the
stomach and just below the diaphragm.
  • In normal individuals this organ measures about
    125  75  50 mm (5  3  2 inches) in size, with
an average weight of 150 g.

12
7. BLOOD
  • Blood is a highly specialized circulating tissue
consisting of several types of cells suspended in
a fluid medium known as plasma.
  • Blood is the circulatory system that carries
cells and proteins of the immune system from one
part of the body to another.
  • Anatomically, blood is considered a connective
tissue from both its origin in the bones and its
    function.

13
Transfer Factor PLUS Advanced Formula
  • "This is the most important product ever
introduced to allow your natural defence, your
immune system, to best protect you against
    illness."
  • - Dr Rob Robertson. MD

14
  • 4Life Transfer Factor Plus Advanced Formula
    provides far reaching immune support.
  • It combines the synergistic power of Transfer
Factor E-XF with the proprietary blend Cordyvant
to nourish, strengthen and activate the immune
    system.

15
  • Ingredients
  • ? Cow colostrum and egg yolk extract
  • ? Zinc
  • ? Inositol Hexaphosphate (IP-6)
  • ? Phytosterols
  • ? Cordyceps sinensis
  • ? Beta Glucan
  • ? Agaricus blazeii extract
  • ? Olive Leaf Extract
  • ? Mannans
  • ? Maitake and Shiitake Mushrooms

16
Cow colostrum and egg yolk extract
  • The two most abundant and safest sources of
transfer factors come from cow colostrum and egg
    yolks.
  • Transfer factor molecules can be shared safely
and effectively. Whether they come from cow to
human or from chicken to human, transfer factors
    are not species specific.

17
Zinc
  • Zinc is an essential element for growth, nervous
system function and especially the immune system
    response.
  • As little as 10mg of supplemental zinc improved
cell mediated immune response in an older
    population.
  • Similarly only 5mg of zinc perday reduced
morbidity and improved immune function, as well
as growth, in low birth weight, full-term infants.

18
Inositol Hexaphosphate (IP-6)
  • Also known as phytic Acid is important in
    regulating vital cellular functions.
  • The anticancer action of IP6 has been
demonstrated both in vivo and in vitro against
cancers of the liver, breast, prostate, large
    intestine and colon.
  • The effectiveness of IP6 against human mammary
cancers is independent of the estrogen receptor
    status of the cells.
  • IP6 up-regulates the expression of tumor
suppressor genes and also blocked incitement of
    tumor activator proteins.
  • These discoveries help in part to explain the
decreased tumor aggression and diminished tumor
    size prompted by IP6

19
Phytosterols (Soya bean Extract)
  • Phytosterols have been shown to modulate the
immune system, inhibit colon cancer development,
    and normalize cholesterol level.
  • Epidemiologic and experimental studies suggest
that dietary Phytosterols may offer protection
from the most common cancers in western societies
such as colon, breast and prostate cancer.
  • Beta-sitosterol has also been identified as the
antimicrobial and antifungal constituent of many
    medicinal plants.
  • Beta-sitosterol was found to be nearly as potent
as indomethacin in inhibiting ear inflammation.

20
Cordyceps sinensis
  • Corydceps sinensis extract greatly increased the
very low level of interferon-gamma, tumor
necrosis factor-alpha, and interleukin-1 in cell
    cultures of leukemic cells.
  • A preparation of cordyceps caused significant
elevation in the number of helper T-cells and
increased the helper to supressor T-cell ratio.
  • It appears to evoke a balanced immune response.
  • It also improves liver function and positively
    adjusts body immunocompetence in chronic
    hepatitis B patients.
  • Cordyceps sinensis has both immunostimulating and
    immunosuppressive effects.

21
Beta Glucan
  • Hundreds of papers have been published on various
aspects of beta-glucans ability to modify
    biological responses.
  • Beta-glucans were first reported to stimulate
    tumor rejection in 1963.
  • Beta-glucan appears to supply the second signal
that completes the activation of NK cells.
  • Bacteria like E-coli and Staphylococcus can
produce lethal septic infection in animals
treating the animals with beta-glucan prior to
    bacterial infection prevented death.
  • In humans, preoperative administration of glucan
    reduced serious postoperative infections and
death by 39 after high risk operations.
  • Sources of beta-glucan include yeast, mushrooms
(Shiitake Maitake) and certain higher plants.

22
Agaricus blazeii extract
  • Agaricus blazei is considered by many to be the
    king of medicinal mushrooms.
  • Studied by Dr Fujimiya and his colleagues found
that when a solid tumor is injected with Agaricus
blazei extract, the tumor begins to shrink. Most
interestingly other tumor present in the host
    also shrink.
  • Dr Fujimiya found the cytotoxicity or cell
killing activity of Agaricus blazei was selective
    for the tumor cells.
  • Through Dr Ito findings clearly indicate that
    Agaricus blazeis anti-tunor effect occurs
through strengthening the hosts immune system.

23
Olive Leaf Extract
  • The olive tree, Olea europaea, is a potential
source of promising antimicrobial agents for
treatment of intestinal or respiratory tract
    infections in man.
  • The recent discovery that microbial infection and
heart disease are correlated provides an
additional dimension to the protective features
of olive and olive leaf extract consumption in
    CHD.
  • Oleuropein improves the macrophage-mediated
response during endotoxin challenge leading to an
    increased cellular and organismal protection.
  • Olive and olive leaf extracts also provide an
    array of anti-inflammatory benefits
    (Hydroxytyrosol was the best anti-inflammatory
    component found in olives).
  • Hydroxytyrosol is a potent inhibitor of free
radical generation in the feces providing a clear
    mechanism for prevention of colorectal
    carcinogenesis.

24
Mannans
  • Acemannan is the major carbohydrate fraction
obtained from the gel of aloevera leaf.
  • Recently acemennan was shown to reduce the
effects of radiation damage to skin if applied
immediately and continuesly for two weeks after
    radiation exposure.
  • Acemannan appears to be an effective adjunct to
surgery and radiation (probably due to its
support of the immune cell populations during and
    after irradiation).
  • Acemannan is one of only a very few
plant-derived, anti-HIV products that have been
used in a limited number of patients suffering
    from HIV.
  • It also inhibited adherence of the bacteria
    Pseudomonas aeruginosa to lung cells.
  • A combination of melatonin and aloe extract has
been reported to arrest, though not reverse,
    brain carcinoma.

25
  • All information on the TF Plus ingredients were
taken from Dr. William J. Hennens book
    ENHANCED TRANSFER FACTOR

    Improved Immune Function.

26
  • Scientifically Studied
  • 4Life researchers and scientists developed this
Advanced Formula in an effort to further maximize
immune system support using transfer factor
    molecules.
  • Results of an independent study conducted at the
Russian Academy of Medical Science conclusively
showed the ability of 4Life Transfer Factor Plus
Advanced Formula to propel Natural Killer (NK)
cell activity to a remarkable 437 percent above
    normal immune response.
