Agreement Rules
  • A subject and verb must agree in
  • Number (singular to singular plural to plural)
  • Gender
  • STEPS
  • Determine the subject and whether its singular
    or plural
  • Determine the verb and whether its singular or
    plural
  • Keep the tense the same!

Agreement Rules
  • A pronoun must agree with its antecedent in
  • Gender
  • Number
  • Antecedent means comes before
  • STEPS
  • Determine the subject or noun. Is it singular or
    plural? Male? Female? Or Object?
  • Determine whether the pronoun used to refer back
    to it is the same gender and number.
