6th Grade Art component

• This year is the first year Eisenhower is
  incorporating both Tech and Art as one class for
  the students UA rotation.
• We will be going to the art room every other
  month, beginning in October, for 3-4 weeks to
  work on art projects
• Elements of Art Line, Shape, Form, Space,
  Texture, Color Value
• Principles of Design   Repetition, Movement,
  Contrast, Balance, Emphasis, Variety Unity
• We will also complete one or two clay projects.

GRADING POLICY

• 100 of GRADE - assessments, major projects,
  summative assignments
• Saving Assessments (1 point)
• Actual Summative Project (5 points)
• If your child ever would like to do an
  assignment/assessment over again, they are
  welcome to do so.
• No extra credit given out

UNDERSTANDING THE GRADEBOOK

• ES- Exceeding Standard (96) Gone above and
  beyond the minimum expectations.
• AS- At Standard (86) Did what was expected and
  understands the target.
• NS- Nearing Standard (76)  Getting close may
  redo to meet standard.
• BES- Below Standard (66)  Struggling with this
  target needs continued practice..
• R Retest (65) Scored below standard and needs
  to redo.
• M- Missing (50) Did not complete assessment or
  daily classwork and needs finish.
• Yes and No

Monthly Free time Friday

• Redo of lessons, if Nearing or Below Standard on
  assessments
• If work is missing, students are working on
  missing work
• If all caught up on work, students earn a reward
  day free time using sites we have used in class.

Online Grades

• Parents can log onto the district website and
  sign up for nightly emails to keep you updated on
  your childs grades.
• You can also subscribe for an automatic email
  every time your childs grade drops below a C- or
  if any work is missing.

Common Sense Media

• Online safety for parents to help their kids
  with.

Email

• If you choose to do email for kids, think about
  skydrive accounts (live.com, hotmail.com) to get
  sky cloud memory
• 13 years old.
• District offers free Google Docs for kids. They
  will be learning this in their English classrooms.
