Become a tourist
  • Assume that your class has planned a trip to the
White House in Washington D.C and you have to
write about three important rooms that you visit.
  • One important room that you will visit is the
cabinet room. In the cabinet room, the
secretaries and advisors on the cabinet meet to
serve the President. It is located in the West
wing of the White House adjoining the Oval
    Office.

Lets visit the Roosevelt Room!
  • The Roosevelt Room is the official meeting room
and workplace of the President. It is located in
the center of the West Wing near the Oval Office.
This room is named after the influential
    presidents, Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin
Delano Roosevelt as they were large contributors
to the design and construction of the West Wing.
  • See the Roosevelt Wing for yourself!

Lets Eat!
  • The State dining room is the larger of the two
dining rooms located on the State floor in the
White House. It is utilized for receptions,
luncheons and large formal dinners for the Heads
of the State. It seats 140 guests and has six
doors leading to different parts of the White
    House.

Follow- up activity
  • Remembering the information that you learned
throughout this virtual field trip, assume that
you are writing an ad telling interested tourists
about the White House. Tell tourists about some
of the rooms that make up the White House and
what the rooms are used for. Make the ad
visitor-friendly to try and attract as many
tourists as possible. Try to include as much
information as possible from what you have
    learned.
