Coverage Requirements CATP Discussion

7
Digital Trunked Voice System
  • County Wide Area Trunked Coverage Requirements
  • 95 AREA Reliability
  • Motorolas coverage guaranty applies only to
areas shown on Motorolas coverage maps as
predicted to have 95 or greater coverage
    reliability.
  • Minimum Delivered Audio Quality (DAQ) 3.0
  • Speech understandable with repetition only
    rarely required. Some Noise/Distortion.
  • ASTRO Digital Only
  • 16 dB Building Loss Sector
  • 12 dB Building Loss Sector
  • 8 dB Building Loss Sector
  • XTS5000 Portable configuration is on hip in a
swivel case using a ½ wave flex antenna. Users
talks/listens using Speaker Mic at the users
    hip.
  • Inaccessible grids will be REMOVED FROM TEST

8
Coverage Acceptance Testing
  • Required Bit Error Rate (BER) Testing per RFP
  • Objective Drive Testing
  • 2.6
  • Subjective Delivered Audio Quality (DAQ)
    Evaluation
  • Measures the Real-World Performance

Bit Error Rate testing will occur on all roadway
accessible test sectors in the county. A 95
coverage reliability guarantee will exist for
those roadways in test sectors illustrated by
Motorola at that coverage level. Additionally, a
subjective DAQ evaluation will be conducted
simultaneously to assess system performance in
those areas with roadways illustrated as having
less than the Motorola guaranteed 95 coverage
reliability. The DAQ evaluation will not be used
as system acceptance criteria.

MCC 7500 Logging Solution
A mission critical IP-based digital logging
solution for ASTRO 25 trunking systems
  • More than just audio recording
  • Information associated with a call
  • Fully compliant with Network Security
  • Events on radio channels
  • Agency Partitioning

40
MCC 7500 Logging SolutionWhat it Can Record
Calls and events - A call is the audio and
associated information for a trunked or
conventional call. An event is a non-voice
command on a talkgroup or conventional channel.
  • Talkgroup Calls Emergency Alarm
  • Announcement Group Calls Emergency
    Acknowledge/Knockdown
  • Emergency Calls Normal/Tactical
  • Encrypted Calls Repeat On/Off
  • Conventional Calls Frequency Selection
  • PL Selection
  • Wildcard I and II
  • PTT ID and Alias Mute Second Receiver
  • Talkgroup/Channel/Frequency/PL

Remote Console Site
Archiving Interface Server (AIS) provides an
interface between a recorder and the radio
system. It functions very similarly to an MCC
7500 Op in that it affiliates with the ZC for
resources it wishes to monitor and the ZC routes
calls on those resources to it. AIS then passes
call info and audio packets to the recorder.
Co-Located Console Site
42
MCC 7500 Logging Solution Equipment Descriptions
The AIS consists of Motorola-developed hardware
and software in a PC workstation platform. A
clear-only AIS contains a voice card and supports
up to120 simultaneous clear transmissions. Red/bl
ack separation of coded and clear transmissions
is not possible.

Subscriber Portfolio
  • Key Differences Between Tiers
  • - Number of Talkgroups Supported
  • - Hardware Configurations Supported
  • Mobiles Dash/Remote Mounting, Dual Head,
    Motorcycle
  • - Encryption Capability
  • - Ability to work on P25 trunking and Legacy
Motorola trunking systems at the same time.

49
Programming Over P25 (POP25)
  • Key Features
  • - Over The Air Programming of radio parameters
while unit is deployed in the field.
  • - Relies on P25 Integrated Voice and Data Pipe,
thus requires data capability both in the system
    and the subscriber.
  • - Provides access to all programming parameters
    in CPS
  • Motorola POP25 Advantage
  • - Radio remains fully functional. Transmission or
reception of voice calls will not abort software
    download.
  • - User does not need to switch to a non-busy
    channel prior to software download.
  • - User does not need to be in a location with
"good signal strength" for software download -
works anywhere you have coverage from your system.

MARCER
133
MARCER Requirements
  • CCC must be able to patch between MARCER
    Talkgroup and UHF Medical Channels
  • Cross patching is done today at the ECC on Elite
    consoles
  • Direct cross patches between conventional
channels and 800MHz Smartnet talkgroups are not
    supported by the MCC7500
  • Too many MARCER talkgroups to maintain permanent
    crosspatches to P25 talkgroups
  • JC desires to maintain the audio delay
    implemented on UHF MED stations

134
MARCER Solution
  • CCC will have 34 operator positions available
  • Not all 34 positions will be required to support
    dispatch operations
  • Extend Elite LAN from ECC to the CCC
  • Setup remote desktop sessions between vacant ECC
(Smartnet) Operator positions and unused CCC
    operator positions.
  • CCC Dispatchers will use remote desktop sessions
to remotely setup cross MARCER patches at ECC
    (6000 Lamar)
