Children take it in turns to make up a story.
Child 1 starts the story with one word, the next
child carries it on with the next word. They
continue in this way to create a story. The
children collaborate on how to make the story
better by adding twists and problems along the
way.

All Change
The same story is told using two different forms
of expression. The first time the story is told
the storyteller uses one tone of voice and very
little description. The children are asked how
the story can be improved. The second time the
storyteller adds expression and detail to
emphasise the difference.

    speaking and listening opportunities before
experimenting with conscience alley such as.
  • Interviewing the Big Bad Wolf to decide if he is
    telling the truth.
  • Retelling the story in their own words round a
    circle
  • Still images to investigate the thoughts and
    feelings of the characters
  • Acting out the role of the central character and
    talking through dilemmas they face.
