• Maha Sud 5 (5 th day of the bright fortnight of
  the lunar month of Magh) is known as Vasant
  Panchmi.
• Many believe Vasant Panchami is the day of
  Saraswati's birthday.
• Swaminarayan Sampradaya, Vasant Panchmi marks the
  day the shikshapatri was written.

Shikshaptri jayanti

• Where and when was it written?
• Hari mandap, Vadtal 1882
• Shikshapatri was originally written in Sanskrit
  by Lord Swaminarayan himself and later translated
  by great saints present at the time.
• A copy of the Shikshapatri can be found at the
  Bodlien Library at Oxford University. This
  Shikshaptri was gifted by Lord Swaminarayan to
  Sir Malcolm, the governor of Bombay during the
  British Empire.
• Valued in the Swaminarayan sect and also by other
  sects. The Shikshapatri is a manual to our Hindu
  Dharma and is made up of 212 verses.
• As Lord Swaminarayan explains in the Slokha's, He
  has written the Shikshapatri for the welfare of
  every soul, and those who abide by it will
  achieve great happiness including, Dharma
  (Virtue), Artha (Wealth), Kama (Pleasure) and
  Moksha (Salvation).
