Overview of topics
  • Diseases
  • Various treatment options with
  • Experiences with

3
  • Is a feed supplement for horses, ruminants, pigs,
    dogs, cats and poultry.

4
Effects
  • Carbo ligni adsorptive
  • Senna, Extractum Rhei laxative
  • Sulfur light disinfecting
  • The added herbal oils support the normal
    digestive processes

5
  • Fields of application

6
Nature report
  • African monkeys eat charcoal from burned trees.
This behaviour may be a learned response for
countering toxic substances such as phenolic and
similar compounds that occur in the major part
    of their diet
  • (Study available)

7
Horse
  • Colic syndrome
  • Diarrhea

8
Colic Syndrome
  • The term Colic syndrome summarises different
causes which result in colic symptoms in horses
  • Constipation of different parts of the intestinal
    tract
  • Tympanies (Bloating)
  • Dislocation of the intestinum

9
Treatment options
  • can be used in the treatment of
colic caused by constipation because of its mild
laxative effects. For the treatment of mild
colics it is used alone or as
concomitant therapy to the classic treatment.
  • is indicated because of its
    potential gas adsorptive effects.

10
Experiences
  • Dr. Salim Saad from Saudi Arabia reported
positive experience in the treatment of colics in
    horses.
  • Excerpt I would like to mention one case, which
occurred with an Arabian breed horse. It had been
fed soaked barley (barley was soaked in water for
one day and not sufficiently dried before being
given to the horse). As a consequence the horse
showed symptoms of colics and I gave it the
necessary medication as usual. As this was not
    very helpful I applied ,
which finally brought about the desired effect so
that the horse was saved. Now Eucarbon is one of
    the main medications in use.

11
Ruminants
  • Tympanies
  • Chronic tympanies of calves
  • Acidosis of the rumen
  • Alkalosis of the rumen
  • Diarrhea

12
Tympanies
  • The disease is caused by the production of too
much gas in the rumen which causes a blowhole or
    sudsy fermentation.
  • Sudsy fermentation is caused by feed rich in
proteins such as young grass (grassing in spring)
    and results in severe symptoms.

13
Treatment
  • can be used prophylactically
because of its potential to bind gases. The
    prophylactic treatment is indicated before
grassing in spring to minimise the risk of gas
    production in the rumen.
  • For the acute therapy can be
    used as concomitant therapy.

14
Chronic tympanies of calves
  • The diseases are caused by faulty feeding or feed
changeovers resulting in abnormal gas production.
  • The animals show stunted growth and stay behind
    in productivity.

15
Treatment
  • The outcome of this disease is uncertain, but due
to high economic losses the therapy is important.
  • Beside the avoidance of faulty feeding
  • can be used prophylactically during
    feed changeovers.

16
Acidosis of the rumen
  • It is caused by the ingestion of high quantities
of forage concentrate. It is followed by severe
symptoms of intoxication, standstill of the rumen
    and acidosis.

17
Treatment
  • Intensive symptomatic therapy is indicated.
  • can be used on the one hand as
a prophylactic therapy in ruminates which are
endangered because of their high levels of
productivity during milk production and fattening
where high quantities of forage concentrate are
used and on the other hand as a concomitant
therapy because of its adsorptive potential for
toxic substances and because of its peristalsis
stimulating potential to activate the peristalsis
    of the rumen.

18
Alkalosis of the rumen
  • It is also caused by faulty feeding. In this case
the ingestion of rotten feed causes alkalosis and
    severe symptoms of intoxication.

19
Treatment
  • is used as concomitant therapy to
adsorb the toxic substances in the rumen and also
as concomitant therapy to the classic treatment.

20
Diarrhea
  • Diarrhea of calves during feed changeovers but
    also infectious diarrheas
  • Diarrhea caused by feed (feed rich in proteins)

21
Treatment
  • can be used as prophylactic
treatment during phases of feed changeovers and
before grassing in spring (young grass) and helps
    support the digestive function.

22
Experiences
  • Reports show the positive effects in the
treatment of acidosis and alkalosis of the rumen
and in the prophylactic treatment of diarrhea.

23
Pig
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Herd control

24
Constipation
  • Bloated stomach during birth caused by reduced
peristalsis and other problems of the intestinal
tract can be prevented by the use of our product.

25
Treatment
  • is used a couple of days before
the estimated date of farrowing and is capable of
regulating the digestive function due to its
    adsorptive and peristalsis stimulating effects.

26
Diarrhea/Herdcontrol
  • During the growing of piglets problems often
occur in connection with feed changeovers, stress
and infections, which cause diarrhea especially
    in large farms.

27
Treatment
  • can be used for both prophylactic
and acute treatment, which is economically
relevant because there are no legal restrictions
    for in the feed law

28
Dog/Cat
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Intoxication

29
Constipation
  • Constipation is caused by faulty feeding (e.g.
high quantities of bones) and sensitivity.

30
Treatment
  • The effects of are best for
these cases but most of the patients are treated
very late therefore the symptoms are often severe
and we have to act very fast.
  • However is useful as concomitant
therapy and as prophylactic therapy in patients
with a known tendency towards constipation

31
Experiences
  • Veterinarians in Austria and abroad have reported
on the effective therapy of constipation,
intoxication and diarrhea in dogs and cats.

32
Poultry
  • Diarrhea
  • Herd control

33
Herdcontrol
  • The aim of the use of in poultry
farms is to prevent diarrheas. This is
economically interesting because there are no
objections with regard to food safety and it is
possible to reduce the use of antibiotics.

34
Packs
  • is available in different
pack sizes particularly adapted to the needs of
    different species (tablets and granules).
