This tour is an upgrade of our Southern Iceland tour. When we arrive at the glacier Sólheimajökull you will go on a Glacier walk of between 2 and 3 hours. You will have a chance to visit the famous volcano that erupted in 2010, Eyjafjallajökull .

The Icelandic travel and tourism sector’s review-period (2008?2012) performance was adversely affected by the country’s slip into recession in 2008. However, despite the volcanic eruption at Eyjafjallajökull in 2010, international and domestic tourism activity increased overall.

Through the vast grasslands that divide the glacier-covered peaks of Eyjafjallajökull from the ill-tempered waters of the Atlantic, we journey the Ring Road to the Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls—taking time to walk behind the former—and enjoy panoramic views of the most remote, interior regions of the Icelandic Highlands, where ribbons of ash-colored ice flow from the hillsides.
