Few photographers have been granted permission to reside in this long-inaccessible kingdom, now a democracy, where life quietly unfolds to the rhythm of traditions amid the magnificent, unspoiled landscape. Matthieu Ricard, a monk and photographer, spent eight years in Bhutan with Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, a revered Tibetan Buddhist master, and has continued to return to the “land of

Bhutan is famous for its colorful festivals, known as Tsechu in Bhutanese, which are usually held in honor of Guru Rinpoche, Bhutan's most important Buddhist saint.

The only emotions I would manifest were anger, intolerance, resentment and depression. If I had dared to love, it was a case of being extremely guarded and conditional. In some cases with people very close to me, that love became obsessive due to the fear of losing them.

A lot of new people who first visit Kechara or just heard about Kechara get quite confused about how many departments there are…or where they can contribute and volunteer! hehe There are 13 departments in Kechara Organization…all of them are extensions of my interests and I have seen them open and grow over the past few years. A few of my students have written a very good summary of what each departments do, why they exist and have added a few relevant photos.. Have fun reading them!!

Loneliness is like the cancer of the modern world, to parse Mother Teresa. We are not alone. We are all interconnected, interdependent and interwoven — inter-being, to use venerable Thich Nhat Han’s felicitous phrase. We are all alone here together, with all beings, all things great and small, visible and invisible.
Certainly, most of Dorje Shugden’s miracles are related to a personal experience of His mercy and kindness to devotees. In recounting the miracles I am sharing now, they are rather different in the sense that the receivers of these miracles are not within the Kechara space nor are they devotees nor do they have knowledge of our Great Protector. But they certainly were in dire straits and had turned to my daughter and I for help.
This is something that myself and many others as a Dorje Shugden practitioner have experienced for the last 20 years. I am a Dorje Shugden practitioner, that is who I am and for two decades, I have suffered vulgarities, insults and threats as a result of my faith which I committed to before the ban started.
It’s a joke—and a pretty good one—but there’s more to it than that. Becoming one with everything by seeing through separateness and rigidity is the heart of what I call inter-meditation. Inter-meditation means meditating with—the practice and art of intimacy and union with whatever is, just as it is. It is the yoga of convergence, connection, co-meditation, and spontaneous oneness. It’s a path we can take to overcome all our illusions of duality.”

Acupuncture is based on ancient Chinese medical philosophy, which interprets human physiology and its illness quite differently than contemporary science. Back then, there were no concepts of the existence of cells, modern physiology, biochemistry, nutrition or mechanisms of healing. Instead, it is premised upon the understanding that energy flows within the human body and this energy can be channeled to create balance and health.
The emperor prayed to his yidam and a spectacle unfolded before his very eyes. From the chest of the self-arisen statue, a ray of light emerged and the emperor followed it with his eyes. The light pointed in the direction of the border between Nepal and India and he saw a white sandalwood tree within a dense forest.
