Office can be more supportive. - Highly interactive, exchange forums will be added

5Usa boxing national championships
- Denver, Colorado in 2nd week of June 2009
- Competitors include Senior and Junior Male and
female athletes - Event is supported by a new USA Boxing grant
from, the Daniels Fund, a Colorado based
non-profit Foundation whose founder, Bill
Daniels, was a boxer and supporter of
recreational and youth programs - Will also launch a Gloves Not Guns program in the
Denver area in conjunction with the event - Exact dates, venue, and housing information will
be posted on www.usaboxing.org as soon as they
are finalized. Continue to check back for more
details.

- A 100,000 USOC Urban Development Grant is being
evenly divided among ten LBCs - New Jersey
- Florida Gold Coast

- LBCs will be using the funding in three ways
- Introduce an amateur boxing program in a high

the MD or DO maintains a state certification and
updated background screening every 2 years - 101.5 There will no longer be half-price
membership for athletes (beginning 2009) - 101.7(1) AIBA rule changes weight classes,
length and number of rounds

compete as professionals in sports other than
combat sports may be a member of and compete in
USA Boxing - 102.3 Master Boxers length and duration of
rounds and requirements, maximum of 3 rounds, 2
minutes each, required use of 16 oz. gloves - 103.5(2)(a) Adhesive tape maximum increased to
6 feet per hand AND may be used between the
fingers

(Please note that new memberships do not go

ensure continuation of Liability Insurance

for the 2009 Registration Year. Please dispose
