Single Record Objectives (1/2)

• The Single Record project should
• make the Single Record available for use across
  NHS Wales (i.e. one shared solution)
• ensure compatibility of solution with NHS England
• ensure compatibility with the rest of the UK
• deliver phased functionality from December 2005
  to ensure programme credibility and enable early
  benefits to be realised
• provide the infrastructure required for staff to
  access the Single Record at the point of care
  delivery

  access to patient identifiable and clinical
  information
• deliver a solution that will enable authorised
  staff to identify the correct information for the
  correct patient
• support the re-design of working practices to

  achieving full integration of any multi-supplier
  solutions
• deliver best value for money for the life of the
  investment
