The NHS in England the operating framework for
2007/08, p13
  • gt continue to use needs assessment systematically
to identify and address the specific needs of
different groups in the population. In
particular, PCTs should review how commissioning
should be tailored to meet the needs of disabled
people, people with learning disabilities, people
from black and ethnic minority communities, and
people from different gender, sexual orientation
    and age groups.

14
Suicide Prevention Strategy for England
  • Prof. Louis Appleby states in foreword to King
report we will now include LGB people as a
specific group who have special needs under Goal
Two of the Strategy. This will send out a clear
message to organisations working with LGB groups,
including health and social care agencies, that
actions need to be taken if we are to reduce the
risk of suicide in this group of people.

15
CAMHS Review
  • The Review will investigate how universal,
targeted and specialist services can be improved
to meet the needs of children and young people
who are experiencing, or are at risk of, mental
health problems. This consultation calls for
evidence from all individuals, organisations and
    groups.
  • DfCSF consultations, closing date 7th July
