- WCI started in the late 1990s in the Annandale,
VA area - WCI opened its Charleston office circa 1998 with
20-30 employees - Total employees worldwide now approaching 200,

7Building a Reputation
- On an early contract based in Indian Head, MD,
the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)
tasked WCI to develop a test-bed for IPv6
transitioning. The test-bed later became the
Dept. of Defense standard - Early on, WCI established outstanding support for
the Defense Research Engineering Network (DREN)
and the High Performance Computing Modernization
Program (HPCMP). WCI now hosts the Classified
DREN NOC in Charleston, SC - Experience in CSA and CA testing led to work
such as performing security tests on NAVMACS and
DMS messaging systems prior to deployment
8Making a Name as a Small Business
- In 2005 SPAWAR published listings of the Top 100
Contractors and the Top 50 Small Business
Contractors - On Small Business list, WCI was ranked 19 for
FY-2004 - WCI also made the Top 100 list, coming in at 52
- WCI was awarded a SeaPort-e contract in June 2005
covering all 7 SeaPort zones and all 21
functional areas with a 32B ceiling - In 2006, WCI was awarded a FO Code 80 contract
