1 Peter 4 Suffering for Being a Christian

• Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful
  trial you are suffering, as though something
  strange were happening to you. But rejoice that
  you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so
  that you may be overjoyed when his glory is
  revealed.
• If you are insulted because of the name of
  Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory
  and of God rests on you.
• If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or
  thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a
  meddler.
• However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be
  ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.

• Keep focused on the vision
• Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and
  finished this race we're in. Study how he did it.
  Because he never lost sight of where he was
  headedthat exhilarating finish in and with
  Godhe could put up with anything along the way
  Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in
  the place of honor, right alongside God. When you
  find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over
  that story again, item by item, that long litany
  of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot
  adrenaline into your souls!

  for your sake, in order that Satan might not
