- MISSION
- Purdue University North Central is dedicated to
providing access to exceptional educational
opportunities and is committed to providing,
assessing, and enhancing three elements
fundamental to a great land grant university
Learning, Discovery and Engagement. - VISION
- In the next five years, Purdue North Central
envisions - Expanding to a Bachelor's degree granting
institution with selected Master's degree
programs and with the retention or development of
Associate degree programs that meet the needs of
the community. - Improving the campus environment to include
additional modern buildings, instructional
technology, and sufficient property to support
future expansion. - Providing a lifetime learning environment for
campus constituents. - Developing collaborative partnerships with other
educational institutions and within the

- PNC students will receive
- support and services that are
- critical to their needs as they
- work toward achieving their
- personal, academic and career
- goals. PNC will focus on
- managed growth through the
- recruitment, retention, and
- post-graduation needs of a
- diverse student body from the
- local region, the State of
- Indiana, and beyond.

- Total living alumni population is now 9,479
- 84.16 of PNC alumni have Indiana mailing
addresses - 68.14 of PNC alumni with Indiana mailing
addresses reside in LaPorte, Porter and Starke

Articulation agreements with Ivy Tech are working
well.
The University-wide admissions program is working
for us at PNC.
Increasing trend toward full-time, younger
students at PNC.

10Intercollegiate Athletics
- PNC is a member of the National Association of
Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) - Two mens sports (basketball and baseball) one
womens sport (softball) We hope to add womens
volleyball in the near future - 81 students participate in intercollegiate sports
11GOAL 2 Academic Programs
- PNC will enhance and
- expand the degree programs
- at the Bachelor's and
- Master's level. The curricula
- will be subject to a
- continuous quality
- improvement process.
- Learning, discovery and
- engagement will be the focal
- points of the academic
- environment at the North
- Central campus.
12Academic Autonomy
- Granted academic autonomy by the Board of
Trustees on February 3, 2006. - New academic organization four colleges
(business, engineering and technology, liberal
arts, science) each with its own dean. - Currently updating Faculty Constitution and
Faculty Senate Bylaws.
13GOAL 2 Academic Programs Progress Made
- BS in Nursing was our 12th baccalaureate degree
- MBA Program Approved by ICHE
- 73 students currently admitted and enrolled
- Accreditation Visits
- NLNAC has granted accreditation to our bachelors
degree program in Nursing - Successful visit by NCATE. It is recommending
separate accreditation of our elementary
education program. - Continued ABET accreditation of our engineering
technology programs.

- PNC will provide life-long

- community. PNC will expand
- existing relationships and create
- new partnerships to expand our
- resource base, enhance positive

- community involvement. PNC
- will work collaboratively with all
- types of educational institutions
- to ensure student access to
- higher education.
