Rules for Division C
  • It is very important to read and re-read the
    rules each year.
  • Something will have changed.
  • Create one session to just review the rules.

4
BUILDING TECHNIQUES
  • Make sure the work area is protected- foam boards
    work great
  • Make sure the students use latex gloves and
goggles when handling CA glue and when cutting
    balsa wood.
  • Create design to scale on paper, then cover paper
with wax paper, pin on board and then put
packaging tape over the wax paper to seal to the
board.- Benefits-the design pattern can be reused
and the balsa wood and glue wont stick to the
    pattern or board.

5
Building Techniquescontinued-
  • Have the right tools available.
  • Create a build location where everything can
stay together- large Tupperware tubs are great to
    keep supplies in.
  • Have a safe place for the work in process to
stay. Also have a safe carrying case for the
    practice times and competition.
