Title: 1. Goodbye Norway

1
1. Goodbye Norway
  • We have now reached the end of two terrific days,
and we have had some very interesting speeches
and a lot of good questions.
  • In the breaks and especially in the evenings I
have heard a lot of talking, a what is more
    important a lot of laughter.

2
  • 2. When I look back on the different speakers I
    cannot forget what
  • Knut Julius Mosquil said several times
  • Life is my choice.
  • The alternative is just not my stile.
  • He wants to live. Death is just not his stile.
  • Knut. You are a man with stile, I am happy to
    know to you.

3
Øystein Johnsen
  • told us about what modern technology can do to
    help us totally paralyzed PALS.
  • Life for a person with A L S only 20 years ago
would not have the same life quality as it has
    today.

4
4. Our Japanese friend Kuniaki Ozawa
  • told us in a most charming maner about his
product Kokori Gatari. If there a single
ignorant and uneducated person who does not
understand Japanese I can tell you, that it is
    the same as Mind Talk...

5
5. Tove Vorren
  • told us interesting about what Norwegian ALS team
    offers to people with A.L.S

6
6. John Paulin from the Danish I T university in
Copenhagen is always interesting to listen to.I
think, he is one of the few people who knows what
we people with A.L.S want to hear.

7
7. Gisle Dimmen
  • was the last speaker on the first day and he told
us more specific about how to communicate with
Tobii. It was a good item after having heard
    about gazetalk and eyetracking

8
8. Tuesday morning Jes Rabek
  • from the Danish rehabilitation centre for
muscular deseases was the first speaker and he
told us about the work they do there

9
9. Professor i neurology from Haugeland
University hospital Ole-Bjørn Tynes
  • is working on an ALS clinic and he told us all
about A L S from making diagnoses to stem cells.
He was around many things and was very
    interesting listening to.

10
  • .
  • 10. Pieta Boogaerdt is a nurse and she told us in
her very personal manner how to deal A L S
    patients - sorry. I mean persons with A L S of
    course.

11
  • 11. Ove Fondenes from Haugeland University
hospital told us about respiratory support. Many
of us know Ove from our first meeting in Denmark.
It was a pleasure to se the popular doctor again.
Ove told us among many other things of why we
people with ALS have problems breathing properly.

12
  • 12. Pall Ingvarson from Iceland University
Hospital talked about many things, but electrical
stimulation of the lunges was what interested us
People with ALS. Is that the solution on our
respiratory problems. I hope it could be.

13
  • 13. Birger B. Jeppesens film was a good item in
the communication part of the conference.

14
  • 14. Former chairman Gudjon Sigurdsson was
supposed to make a happening with Evald Krog, But
Evald had got the pneumonia so Gudjon made
the happening all alone. Well done, my friend.
  • You can always get a job with that trailer in my
    home town..

15
  • 15. Birgers caretaker Selina told us about her
    job as a caretaker.
  • It is always interesting to her people talk from
the heart about a job so personally as a
    caretakers job.

16
  • 16. Finally Webmaster Tommy Petersen told us
about about ALS forum. Tommy loves his websites
and please do send him articles to his websites.
You can write about your impression of this
    congress.

17
About next year.
  • I know we have people from Sweden here..
  • Are you ready to take over next year.
  • Let me know here ad now or on mjjharhoff_at_mail.tel
    e.dk
  • I need an answer within a week from now because I
have to search money by nordisk Råd very soon.

18
  • Mette, Aase, Marianne and everybody in the
beautiful staff, in your company life will never
    get boring.
  • Thank you for two fantastic days. It has been a
pleasure for us all to be here on this wonderful
    hotel.

19
  • I have only heard one complain, and it is from my
helper. She means that the lunch break should be
    on at least 3 hours.
  • She says, that it is impossible for her to try
all the courses on the buffet in only one hour.

20
At last I will say two things
  • 1, Life do not need to be boring,
  • Just because you have ALS
  • 2. Do not cry over things you cannot do.
  • Be happy for what you can do.

21
I think Mosquils words shall be our motto
  • Life is our choice.
