- The Idea DERI started as a cooperation between
Dieter Fensel and CIMRU (Computer Integrated
Manufacturing Research Unit) at NUI Galway. - The Plan Science Foundation Ireland were looking
for proposals for CSETs - CSETs Centres for Science, Engineering and
Technology Campus-Industry Partnerships - normally range from 1 million to 5 million per
year for five years and can extend for up to ten
years based on performance - The Execution proposal was drafted and
re-drafted, involvement of academics, HP Galway. - The Result SFI Funding of 12M over 5 years for
NUI Galway. DERI was born... 16th June 2003
