• 1950 Born in Melbourne
• 1952 Moved to Kyneton, Victoria when
• two years old
• 1956 Moved to Devonport, Tasmania
• Attended Devonport Primary School
• 1960 Moved to Sydney
• Enrolled at The Kings School, Paramatta
• (The oldest and strictest school in Australia)

• 1969 Began an Arts/Law Degree at The
• University of Sydney
• After giving up his Uni Degree Marsden worked
  at various jobs including
• collecting blood
• looking after a mortuary at night
• working on a sideshow
• 1978 Began teaching career as an English
• teacher at All Saints
  College, Bathurst
• 1987 First book So Much To Tell You
• published

• 1988 Won Childrens Book Council Book of
• the Year Award for So Much
  to Tell
• You
• 1990 Took leave from teaching
• Wrote his fifth book Out of
  Time
• 1992 Seventh novel, Take My Word For
• It, was published.
• 1993 Looking For Trouble, one of
• Marsdens favourites was
  published.
• 1994 Pan Macmillan published Tomorrow
• When the War Began, the first novel of one of
  the most successful series ever published in
  Australia.

• 1998 Marsden wrote Secret Mens
• Business. Manhood The Big Gig,
• a book just for boys.

• 1999 The final volume in the Tomorrow
• Series was published. It was called
• The Other Side of Dawn.
