  • 1952 Moved to Kyneton, Victoria when
  • two years old
  • 1956 Moved to Devonport, Tasmania
  • Attended Devonport Primary School
  • 1960 Moved to Sydney
  • Enrolled at The Kings School, Paramatta
  • (The oldest and strictest school in Australia)

  • 1969 Began an Arts/Law Degree at The
  • University of Sydney
  • After giving up his Uni Degree Marsden worked
    at various jobs including
  • collecting blood
  • looking after a mortuary at night
  • working on a sideshow
  • 1978 Began teaching career as an English
  • teacher at All Saints
    College, Bathurst
  • 1987 First book So Much To Tell You
  • published

  • 1988 Won Childrens Book Council Book of
  • the Year Award for So Much
    to Tell
  • You
  • 1990 Took leave from teaching
  • Wrote his fifth book Out of
    Time
  • 1992 Seventh novel, Take My Word For

  • When the War Began, the first novel of one of
