  • 11 YTD in 2008 (6 Contractors YTD)
  • Need to work to prevent fatalities in the steel
    industry

Mission
  • To provide a formal process to communicate
    potentially fatal incidents occurring in the
    industry, including corrective actions.
  • To better identify and communicate practices or
    techniques across the industry to prevent fatal
    injuries.
  • To provide a resource for SMA Member Companies to
    utilize for training purposes and/or assessment
    of existing fatality prevention programs.
