- (2 Kings 251-12)
3- They (the Babylonians) killed the sons of
Zedekiah before his eyes. Then they put out his
eyes, bound him with bronze shackles and took him
to Babylon. - On the seventh day of the fifth month, in the
nineteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar king of
Babylon, Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial
guard, an official of the king of Babylon, came
to Jerusalem.
4- He set fire to the temple of the LORD, the royal
palace and all the houses of Jerusalem. Every
important building he burned down. The whole
Babylonian army, under the command of the
imperial guard, broke down the walls around
Jerusalem. - Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard carried
into exile the people who remained in the city,
along with the rest of the populace and those who
had gone over to the king of Babylon. But the
commander left behind some of the poorest people
of the land to work the vineyards and fields.

- (Jeremiah 291-23)
7- This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of
Israel, says to all those I carried into exile
from Jerusalem to Babylon - Build houses and settle down plant gardens and
eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and
daughters find wives for your sons and give your
daughters in marriage, so that they too may have
sons and daughters. Increase in number there do
not decrease. - Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city
to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to
the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too
will prosper. (Jeremiah 294-7)

- (Ezra 11-4)
9- In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in
order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by
Jeremiah, the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king
of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his
realm and to put it in writing - This is what Cyrus king of Persia says The
LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the
kingdoms of the earth and has appointed me to
build a temple for Him at Jerusalem in Judah.
Anyone of his people among you may his God be
with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem in Judah
and build the temple of the LORD, the God of
Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem. And the
people of any place where survivors may now be
living are to provide him with silver and gold,
with goods and livestock, and with freewill
offerings for the temple of God in Jerusalem.
(Ezra 11-4)
