• Early detection of small, asymptomatic lesions
• Many detected incidentally as part of workup for
  other disease states
• Both laparoscopic and open approaches are taken

• Candidate for open partial Nephrectomy
• Mass lt 5 cm
• Exophytic mass
• Solitary kidney
• Multiple lesions

• Bleeding disorders
• Tumors gt 5cm

Freeze Test Each Probe

• To ensure each
• CryoProbe will function properly they must be
  tested in a basin of sterile water or saline
  before placement in patient

Temperature Monitoring Open Cryoablation

• Temperature sensors advanced into tissue at tumor
  margin, and beyond if desired
• Real-time temperature confirmation (-40C)
• Visual confirmation of
• iceball advancing 1 cm
• beyond tumor margin
