NASA WALLOPS FLIGHT FACILITY NAMMA
PARTICIPATION OBJECTIVE Assimilate
high-resolution radiosonde profiles focusing on
atmospheric structure and features. MEASUREMENTS
Radiosondes - beginning August 15, one
instrument release every four hours - 350 gram
balloon - Temperature, relative humidity, and
wind data to be sampled every second - GPS
position allows lat. and long. for each second
with highly accurate winds - chilled mirror
radiosonde once each night - measurements
during descent Precipitable Water - ground
based GPS unit expected to be available to obtain
total precipitable water Total Ozone - expect
to have Microtops (photometer) available - total
ozone, precipitable water, optical
depth. Vertical Ozone Profiles - could be
available, but funds and manpower are limited
DATA LOGISTICS On a daily basis, available
data are expected to be posted to a web page.
