The Panda Bear
  • The Panda Bear is probably the most famous
Endangered Animal. The Panda lives in six small
areas located in China . In China they call the
Panda "Xiongmao", which means Giant Cat Bear. The
Panda was believed to have magical powers that
could ward off natural disasters and evil
spirits. They were even kept as pets by Chinese
    Emperors.
  • Giant pandas bears have a massive head, heavy
body, short tail, rounded ears and plantigrade
    feet.

The Panda is such a majestic creature. It is sad
to think that there may not be Pandas around to
much longer. Even sadder is the fact that we are
the cause. Until people relize that Pandas are
such great creatures and that they deserve home,
the Pandas will be in danger of exticntion

Snow Leapord
  • The snow leopard is an endangered big cat that
inhabits the rugged and mountainous terrain of
Central Asia and the Himalayan region. It is
currently threatened by hunting for the illegal
wildlife trade and revenge killings by herders
habitat loss and diminished food supply. A 2003
study by TRAFFIC, WWF and the International Snow
Leopard Trust found a dramatic decline of the big
cats in many countries over the previous decade.
It is estimated these threats are reducing the
snow leopard population to numbers approaching
those of the endangered tiger. The remaining
animals live in only 12 countries in South and
    Central Asia.

The Blue Whale
  • The blue whale is classified as a member of the
order Cetacea (Whales) and is a member of the
family Balaenopteridae. The male blue whale grows
to about eighty-two feet long, and the female
grows to about eighty-five feet long. It weighs
up to 285,000 pounds as an adult. The blue whale
is classified as an endangered species due to a
reduction of at least 50 of the blue whale
population over the last three generations based
on direct observation, an index of abundance, and
levels of exploitation. The blue whale is the
largest mammal to have lived on the earth, but it
feeds on some of the smallest marine organisms -
    plankton

Conclusion
  • We live in an environment where we have to share
our resources with each other and our animal
friends. Lets be kind and thoughtful and
remember that we are just as much a part of this
    world as animals are.
