Title: Field acceptance test procedure of Present weather sensors
1Field acceptance test procedure of Present
weather sensors
2Method
- 8 PWD22 sensors to determine one single present
weather (reference)
- Comparison with a spectro-pluviometer
3Comparison with the Thies sensor (A single PWD22)
4Present weather, Dispersion of the diagnosis
5Visibility
- Sensors Comparison with the site references
6Visibility dispersion (average over 8 sensors)
- Dispersion of a PWD22 with regard to 7 identical
sensors (median)
- The dispersion of a PWD22 with regard to the
reference sensors of the site gives similar
results .
7Thies sensor, experience, experimental assembly
- Installation and walked past of calibrated balls
in front of optics
8Behavior with various diameters
9Behavior various speeds
10quantities of drops (glass balls) valuation
Number of balls deducts from their weight and
number of balls counted by Thies Prior, the
average weight of a balls is estimated. We divide
the mass of balls got back by the middle weight
of a ball. For optimise the accuracy, the
experiment is starteg again several times.
11Conclusion
- We observe a measurement dispersion between
identical sensors
- A sensor considered as a reference is not realy
completed
- The difficulty will be in the future to be able
of estimating these sensors types. With the
growth of complexity and data provided by such
instrument, it will be more and more difficult to
check them in the future.
