Title: Pyramid of Success

1
Pyramid of Success
  • Coach John Wooden's last twelve years as
coach, UCLA won ten National Collegiate Athletic
    Association (NCAA) championships.

2
Industriousness
  • The work that you have to do, there is no
    substitute for hard work.

3
Friendship
  • Two characteristics for a leader to possess
and instill in team members are respect and
camaraderie. These are noteworthy in true
friendship as it pertains to Leadership.

4
Loyalty
  • You must have the courage to be loyal to those
who you lead. It starts by being loyal to
yourself, your standards, your system, your
values. Compromising them is especially under
the banner of expediency is disloyalty personal
    betrayal of yourself.

5
Cooperation
  • Cooperation the sharing of ideas, information,
creativity, responsibilities and tasks is a
    priority of good leadership.

6
Enthusiasm
  • You must love what you do your heart must be
in it. Without enthusiasm you cannot work to your
fullest ability and potential. You must have
enthusiasm if youre a leader or wish to become
    a leader.

7
Self Control
  • Getting to the top even once is arduous.
Staying there, many say, is even more difficult.
To do either requires self-control. For every
contrived peak you create, there is a subsequent
    valley.

8
Alertness
  • As you strive to achieve your personal best,
Alertness will make your tasks much easier. You
will see it coming before the competitor does.
Be observing quickly to spot a weakness and
correct it Organizations whos leader does not
exhibit alertness in saying I didnt see it
    coming.

9
Initiative
  • Truly believe that the failure to act lack
of initiative is often the greatest failure of
all. A mistake may occur, but if it is not
because of carelessness or sloppiness.. or rash
judgment it must be accepted as part of your
    journey to success.

10
Intentness
  • The ability to resist temptation and stay on
the course, to concentrate on your objective with
determination and resolve. Impatience is wanting
too much too soon. Intentness doesnt involve
wanting something. It involves doing something
    for a very long time.

11
Condition
  • You cant attain proper physical condition
unless it is preceded by mental and moral
condition. How does one attain moral condition?
..Practice moderation and balance in all that you
    do.

12
Skill
  • Skill means being able to execute all of your
job not just part of it. It is my opinion that
the greatest leaders are life long learners The
most effective leaders are those who realize its
what you learn after you know its all that
    counts most.

13
Team Spirit
  • Team spirit means you are willing to sacrifice
personal considerations for the welfare of
allindividual effort is made to contribute to
the improvement of the team what ever your team
is sports, business, family or community.

14
Poise
  • ..Not being thrown off stride in how you
behave or what you believe because of outside
events. Poise is a gift you give yourself when
you acquire the blocks of the pyramid- those in
    the preceding three tiers.

15
Confidence
  • .. Confidence requires respect and not fearing
the person who has authority. Confidence must be
monitored so it does spoil or rot and turn into
    arrogance.

16
Competitive Greatness
  • If your in a position of leadership, you must
teach your team to love the struggle only then
will you, and they find great competitive
greatness the only thing to fear is the
unwillingness to give that 100 percent of the
    highest level of your ability.
