Committee Vision

• Consistently produce a high quality, thoroughly
  informative, relevant communication vehicle for
  the fraternity and especially the Southwestern
  Province.
• The largest province in Kappa Alpha Psi needs and
  deserves its own newsletter to better connect us
  and promote our theme Creating Inspiration A
  Call to Service

Committee Goals

• Assist in the compilation of chapter reports for
  submission to the KAY Journal
• Chronicle the achievements and newsworthy
  happenings in the Southwestern Province
• Increase frequency from annually to quarterly
• Set a new standard for the other provinces

State of the Committee

• Previous version of the SWP newsletter was
  discontinued in 1999 and committee became
  inactive
• Past SWP Polemarch, Dr. Chuck Carr Brown
  reactivated the committee prior to the 70th SWP
  Council
• Current SWP Polemarch, Ron Julun is committed to
  making the newsletter a permanent part of the SWP

Future Committee Actions

• Identify Jr. Editor(s) an undergraduate Brother
  (preferably Journalism or Communications Major)
• Identify Chapter Reporters
• Identify State-Wide Reporters
• Increase Article / Photo Submissions from
  Chapters and SWP Committees
• Publicize Newsletter and KAY Journal Deadlines

Format, Distribution, Budget

• Electronic newsletter will be in PDF format for
  viewing, downloading and storage on SWP website
• Hard copies may be made available at subsequent
  province-wide meetings
• A budget has been established for the Newsletter
  committee, however no funds from SWP Exchequer
  are currently being used
