Responsibilities
  • Solicitation of candidates, producing the slates
    and conducting the annual elections of AdCom
    members, Vice-President and President in
    September/October of each year.
  • Includes encouraging the submission of petitions
    on behalf of prospective candidates and
    organizing the membership-at-large election.
  • Advising the incoming President of individuals
    who are qualified and willing to fill the various
    appointed AdCom committee positions.

  • 2006 President
  • 2006 President-Elect
  • Normally will be 2007 President
  • Seven (7) Members of the AdCom
  • To serve from 1 January 2006
  • One (1) to be elected by member ballot (3 years)
  • Six (6) to be elected by 2004 AdCom
  • Electors are ALL current AdCom Members 3
    immediate Past Presidents

Nominations Process
  • Slates for election of AdCom members will be
    determined at June meeting
  • Slates recommended by NA committee
  • Number of nominees must be at least 1.5X number
    of vacancies
  • i.e. minimum 9 candidates for AdCom ballot
  • In addition, all petition candidates included on
    slate
  • Nominations from the floor at the June meeting
    and write-in votes are permitted

Elections
  • MTT-S members ballot conducted by IEEE Technical
    Activities department
  • AdCom ballot conducted by NA committee (STV by
    secret e-mail ballot as approved at June 2002
    meeting). Result to be confirmed by AdCom at the
    October 2005 meeting
  • President and President-elect election conducted
    at October 2005 meeting

Nominations
  • Submit to NA Committee
  • By petition containing the signatures of 25
    individuals who are members in good standing of
    the IEEE and the Microwave Theory and Techniques
    Society
  • Candidates will be contacted and asked to confirm
    their willingness to run and commitment to active
    participation if elected
  • No Candidate may run for election in both the
    membership-at-large ballot and the election by
    the AdCom in the same year
  • Decision of the candidate

NA ask you, please
  • Make it widely known that nominations and
    suggestions are being solicited
  • Identify people who have contributed to the
    Society and encourage them to consider running
    for AdCom
  • Find enthusiastic people as volunteers to serve
    on AdCom committees
  • Think out of the box and help to bring in new
    active participants in MTT-S
  • Study your own peer group
  • Consider what skills and/or representation we need
