• Create a New Quickset

• Give it a Logical Name!
• Uncheck the box Get Media and Page Size From
  Printer so you lock in the media type.

• Where it shows Color Management , select All
  ICC Profiles On. This will give you good
  default settings for which the program was
  designed.
• If you click on the Change Profiles button you
  will get the next screen.

• These are our standard input profiles and may be
  changed depending on need. It is best if all
  Quicksets have the same input profiles as it is
  generally the only way to get consistent color.
• Input Profiles shape the color before the job is
  submitted to the RIP and output, or the media
  profiles applied to the image.

• There are lots of powerful options under the
  Advanced Settings button from the main Quickset
  screen.
• Explore them!

• Make it easy on yourselfonce you have created
  one good Quickset with standardized color
  settings, Copy and Editspeeds up the whole
  process!

What is Happening

• Creates job presets that are easy to call on from
  all around Onyx.
• Publishes out to Windows and to Windows network
  as printer driver---allows you to print from
  apps.
• Creates folders for each named QuicksetHot
  Folders that you can drag and drop files into.
• Creates Mac PPDs, files that can be imported
  into Mac environment so you can print from apps
  also.
• Publishes out to Windows operating system so any
  computer that can tap into the Onyx server can
  submit jobs using Quicksets, even from the
  Internet!

Open Files In RIP Queue

• In the Onyx RIP Queue, go to File-OpenPick your
  printer, pick a Quicksetopen one file or many!

Open Files In Preflight

• In Onyx Preflight, go to File-OpenPick your
  printer, pick a Quicksetopen your file!

Open Files In Web Portal

• You can tap into your Onyx server by simply
  logging in its IP Address from any computer
  connected to it. You will see a screen
  displaying jobs in the RIP Queue.
• Pick a Printer, Pick a Quickset, Pick a Job, you
  are good to go!

• File-Print
• Select Printer (Onyx Virtual Printer)
• Advanced Settings
• Set Custom Postcript Page Size
• Select Quickset
• Print!

Mac Applications

• Onyx by default creates Mac PPDs each time you
  create a Quickset. Setting up Mac printing
  facilities varies with the version of the Mac OS
  and with the use of different network protocols.
  Please consult your Onyx User Manual for further
  information or check for information on our
  website, www.onyxgfx.com.

Use Of Hot Folders

• Each Quickset created in Onyx creates a folder in
  the Windows operating system.
• You may either Drag Drop or Export files into
  them, either from the Onyx computer or across
  your network.
• They will RIP and Print according to the
  instructions in the Quickset!

Archiving Your Quicksets

• Quicksets are a very convenient and powerful tool
  in Onyx but they do take a bit of time to set up.
  In that sense they are very valuable to you!
• Go to File-Manage Printers-(select
  printer)-Create PrnInst.
• This will back up the printer driver, media
  profiles, Quicksets, the works! Valuable
  information!
