NACIONAL YOUTH ASSOCIATION FOR FAMILY ACTION

• The National Youth Association for Family
  Action is a non-profit association whose aim is
  to encourage solidarity between young people,
  their families and the community, in order to
  promote equality, justice and progress, by
  harmonized actions of economic, social and
  cultural development ensuring representation,
  participation and intervention as well as
  safeguarding the new generations rights,
  interests and expectations

• ANJAF was established on 23/02/1989 and is
  recognized as a legal entity of public utility
  since 2001.
•

• ANJAF is a recognised training entity accredited
  by IQF (Institute for the Quality in Vocational
  Training) since 26/01/1998 in the following
  areas Design, Organization and Promotion
• Certified by the Portuguese Institute of
  Employment and Vocational Training, since 1999 to
  make Training for Trainers.

• WFO - World Family Organisation
• since December 1999
•  European Network of Women Resource Centres,
  since January 2006
• National Advisory Board for Family Issues, under
  the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, since
  January 2007
• Seniors University Net, since September 2007

•  
• Our main objective is to carry out activities
  contributing to socio-professional integration
  and socio-cultural development of young people
  and all exposed groups, namely those in a
  situation of exclusion, in order to promote
  social harmony.
•   The target population of ANJAF activities is
  composed by the exposed groups or groups in a
  situation of exclusion such as the long term
  unemployed, young people looking for their first
  job, the ethnic and cultural minorities, people
  below the poverty line, one-parent families and
  women with social integration problems.

• ANJAF sees vocational training as the most
  appropriate way to promote employment
  opportunities, in accordance with its purpose of
  fighting against exclusion and promoting social
  integration.

•    Currently, ANJAF activities are
•    
•   CACI Centros de Apoio ao Conhecimento e
  Integração (Unity of Integration in Active
  Life), are local structures that pretend to help
  exposed groups (or in risk), and those who look
  for a job. They try to stimulate the active
  search of a job or training, increasing the
  empowerment and the social, technical, and
  personal competences of those populations,
  through the orientation by a specialized
  technician.

• A free service, of great quality and of easy use,
  for the candidates who look for job, and for the
  enterprises that put their job offers, providing
  to both parts the quick, simple and efficient
  form of reaching their objectives

•   GABINETE DE APOIO ÀS FAMILIAS
• The supporting family Bureau has as target
  group Families in situation of poverty, social
  exclusion and communities in general. It
  provides services in
•    Assistance and Social Attendance Bureau
• Psychological and Pedagogic Support Bureau
• Legal Support Bureau  
• CLUBE SENIOR (Senior University)
• This structure was created to give answers to
  the elderly population needs. Here its possible
  for the target group to have classes, workshops
  or trainings of several subjects, like English,
  French, Portuguese, History, Literature or dance
  classes, gymnastics and others. All the teachers
  are voluntaries.
• The Clube Sénior promote professional training
  for those who work or want to work with elderly
  people

•   Residência de Estudantes (Hall of
  Residence)
• Was created to offer a quality multifamily
  answer to all the students from private and
  public education, and at the same time to be a
  studying area, coexistence life and training.
•  
• Rede de Voluntariado (Net of
  Volunteers)
• Its aims is to promote, to value
  and to qualify the social volunteers at national
  level.
• It intends to be a space of reference for the
  entities that intervene in this area and for
  those who try to be a volunteer.

•   ANJAF is and was envolved in several
  projects (national and transnational), namely
  Rumos de Futuro da Prisão para a Inclusão
• Main objectives
•   - To increase (ex)offenders skills through
  training during detention.
• - To prepare (ex)offenders for work, by
  training and social work.
• - To involve interprises to facilitate the
  acess of the target group to the labour market.
• - To work with the families and the
  community in general.

• ACTIVITIES THAT WAS COORDINATE BY ANJAF
• - Training carried out 4 courses on
  personal, social, parenting and labour
  competences 2 professional training
  Electricity and mechanics.
• - Self-help groups work with 4 groups
  inside the prison.
• - Work with 13 offenders families and with
  the community in general to prepare their return
  to society
