• Deterioration Loss in country of origin,
  Haitian Laws
• We chose LAC microfilm from partners that we had
  in our local holdings issues of shipping
  microfilm or materials themselves through customs
  (unless diplomatically done)
• Topical areas defined in the 2007 meeting of
  ACURIL (Association of Caribbean University,
  Research and Institutional Libraries).

Microfilm Scanning Standards Needs

• Generally 300 dpi, TIFF v. 6, uncompressed
• Color space appropriate to content
• All of our acetate microfilm negatives for books
  have been regenerated/migrated to polyester
• Speed versus quality, weighed with funding and
  state limitations on funding sources/types
