A. BIOSPHERE

• The Biosphere is the thin layer of earth where
  all life is found. Roughly 10 miles wide.
• The Biosphere is divided in Biomes

B. BIOMES

• Biomes are parts of the earth that have a
  consistent set of characteristics.
• Biomes can be divided into Terrestrial Biomes and
  Aquatic Biomes.

C. BIOMES ARE INFLUENCED BY TWO FACTORS.

• BIOTIC
• Living factors
• All the organisms found in that biome. (animals,
  plants, and microorganisms)

• ABIOTIC
• Non-living factors
• Physical conditions of the biome. (climate,
  rainfall, soil, minerals, wind, altitude, depth,
  etc)

D. INTERSPECIES RELATIONSHIPS

• A relationship between two different animal
  species.
• For example
• Shark and Remora Fish

E. INTRASPECIES RELATIONSHIPS

• A relationship between two animals of the same
  species.
• For example
• Caring for young in some species.

F. PHYSICAL ADAPTATIONS

• Physical characteristics that an animal has that
  increases its survival.
• For example
• Tusks on a elephant.

G. BEHAVIORAL ADAPTATIONS

• Behaviors that an animal exhibits that increases
  its survival.
• For example
• Defending territory
• Hunting during the night.
