18Summary
- Integration of large amounts of wind power make
new tools for grid operation necessary - For integration of wind power, the Wind Farm
Cluster Management System (WCMS) has been
developed at ISET - Cluster all wind farms connected to one
transmission grid node - Provides forecast and allows control for each
grid node - Gives the TSO an extended control of the Wind
Power Plant - Its capabilities are currently demonstrated in a
field test in Germany
19Outlook WCMS demonstration at alpha ventus
- alpha ventus
- Operated by E.ON, EWE, Vattenfall Europe
- Erection 2008 and 2009
- RAVE Research at alpha ventus
- Research funding by BMU of about 50 Mio.
- Research coordination by ISET
- Demonstration of WCMS planned
20Outlook WCMS in Spain and Portugal
- European research project Wind on the Grid
- WCMS demonstration in Spain and Portugal
- Additional hierachy level Wind farm operator
- New control strategy Voltage control
21Outlook Combination of different renewable
energies
Renewable Virtual Power Plant 100 Supply by
Wind, PV, Biogas and Pump Storage Model 1/10000
of German load
