• Our approach
• (i) Distractor interference paradigms

• Participants saccade to a simple target
• Distractors are presented
• Systematically vary properties of the target and
  distractors
• Examine impact of different types of distractors
  on various aspects of the target-directed
  movement latency, accuracy, and trajectory
• Underlying assumption effective stimuli will
  cause more interference!
• (ii) Spatial frequency tuning of the oculomotor
  system
• Visual system is differentially sensitive to
  particular spatial frequencies
• How does the oculomotor system respond to
  different spatial frequencies?
