Net Control Software

• Easy graphic interface to manage routing/firewall
  features integrated in all linux distribution
  (IPChains/IPTable)
• Interface and use are optimized for scholastic
  use
• At the system start-up all pc are not connected
  to the internet
• The teacher can activate/deactivate single
  workstation internet access
• Only inter-network traffic are filtered (no LAN
  filter)
• No proxy required (but supported)
• No extra configuration required for the client
• The Net control server must be a simple teacher
  PC or a labs server with two networks card
• One network card connected to a Local Area
  Network
• Other network Card connected to a School Intranet
  Network
• System Requirements for server
• PC with Linux distribution

NET Control Project

• The Net Control are developed in collaboration to
  a DSchola Network
• The Majorana School has been selected as one of
  the Service, Managing and Experimental Centers
• The project was initially promoted by the CRT
  foundation (Bank Cassa di Risparmio di Torino)
  jointly with the regional school authority
• Now the project is run under the Regional
  Government and is open to wider cooperation
• The main goal is to foster the adoption of ICT
  technologies in all the schools within the
  Piemonte region taking advantage of the existing
  networks of excellence
