Representativity of FEPACHIM
  • The representativity at branch level was renewed
    by the civil sentence nr. 7/22.04.2005 of the
    Bucharest Court of Justice
  • The sentence recognizes the meeting of the legal
    requirements necessary to negotiate and sign the
    collective labour agreement.
  • FEPACHIM reunites 116 companies and 52.763
    employees, respectively 54.1 of the total number
    of employees of the chemical and petrochemical
    sector (which is of 97.500 employees source
    National Statistical Institute).

FEPACHIMs Mission
  • To promote the common professional interests of
    the companies represented by its members
  • To inform the decision-making process at
    Governmental level so that policies and
    legislative proposals which affect business take
    account of companies' needs  
  • To represent its members in the dialogue between
    social partners.

FEPACHIMs objectives
  • Promotes the common professional interests of the
    members by influencing the decision-making
    process so as the specific governmental policies
    to be concordant with the development needs of
    the companies
  • Participates at the elaboration of the
    development strategy for the Chemical and
    petrochemical industry as well as to the
    national export strategy for the sector
  • Participates at the transposition of the EU
    regulations in Romania
  • Takes an active role in implementing the
    transposed regulations
  • Negotiates and signs the collective labour
    agreement for the Chemistry and Petrochemistry
    branch
  • Participates in the tripartite dialogue

Responsible Care- Cooperation with CEFIC -
  • Responsible Care Program in Romania
  • 2 meetings with over 80 participants from the
    companies chemical sector
  • On this occasion there has been printed and
    distributed
  • Guide on Responsible Care and Product Stewardship
  • On the meetings resulted also the priorities of
    the Romanian chemistry regarding environmental
    protection, health and safety policy

Activities for promoting Responsible Care
  • Waste management
  • FEPACHIM drafted a study on the Waste Management
    and Environmental Protection in the Romanian
    Industry
  • The study presents the technologies used, wastes
    types and quantities (in the branches where there
    is a waste management system), environmental
    management methods, investments needed in the
    following sub-sectors
  • Chemistry
  • Rubber
  • Plastics
  • Colorants
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Fertilizers
  • Petrochemistry, Electronics, Energetics, Minning
    and Siderurgy, Food industry, Cellulose and paper

Responsible Care - Implementing BAT -
  • FEPACHIM participates together with the Ministry
    of Environment at the evaluation of the
    implementation strategy of the European directive
    96/61/EC Best Available Techniques (BAT)
  • FEPACHIM initiated at national level the cost
    evaluation operation for introduction of the IPPC
  • The evaluation are taken for the existent
    investments as well as for the planned
    investments by 2007

    those who suffered accidents or professional

FEPACHIM future objectives
  •  
  • Drafting of a new colective labour agreement for
    the Chemical sector which will include the latest
    legislation changes
  • Continue its participation in the program of
    preparing and validating the training standards
    for operators, technicians and foremen in the
    chemical and petrochemical industry
  • Preparing the amendments to the environmental
    regulations adopted up to now
  • Coordination of the establishment of a export
    promotion and support system for the
    (petro)chemical products together with the
    Foreign Trade Romanian Center
  • Starting a project for Safe transportation of
    chemical substances and a monitoring system for
    incidents occured during transportation.
