Introduction
  • The Second Battle of El Alamein or Al Alamayn as
    it is sometimes spelled, was the turning point
    for the Allied Forces in Africa.

  • The outcome of this battle would open the gateway
    to Europe, and the allies renewed vigor would
    soon lead to Operation Overlord, and the eventual
    fall of Germany.

Task
  • From the perspective of the Allies or Axis
    forces, describe the before, during, after
    effects and events of the battle, as well as the
    forces and technology used. Act as a scout and
    prepare a brief of the information for either
    Rommel or Montgomery depending on your chosen
    side.

  • The student groups should use the information
    they gather in order to create a verbal and
    visual presentation to the class.

Process
  • The students should divide into groups of four,
    with one student taking charge in-order to keep
    things moving
  • Each of the students will be studying a specific
    area of the battle in order to build a bigger
    overview of what took place according to their
    side. However, the opposing forces must also be
    studied in order to establish a realistic
    experience of the battle as seen by a scout.

  • Statistics(ie No. of Men Involved, Deaths, etc.)

Conclusion
  • This project should teach the students proper
    planning and speaking skills vitally needed for
    presentations. As well, it teaches students more
    about the Battle of Al Alyman, and allows them to
    view it through a new viewpoint.
