6- Problem statement NCMA certification is losing
acceptance in the contract management profession.
-
- Desired state Widely accepted certification
program.
7Guiding principles
- Retain the current program strengths Using the
CMBOK as its foundation, continue with
competency-based, psychometrically sound, legally
defensible, and available on demand exams.
8Guiding principles (cont.)
- 2. Incorporate the legacy program strengths
There should be one exam leading to one
certification. The CPCM, CFCM, and CCCM will be
independent certifications.
9Guiding principles (cont.)
- 3. Multiple certification credentials are
required to effectively service our members. - The CPCM, CFCM, and CCCM should be retained.
- Certifications should be added for vertical
market segments (ie. international, construction).
10Guiding principles (cont.)
- 4. The single CPCM exam must include business
knowledge and generic contracting topics (ie,
negotiations, law, ethics). - The CFCM must focus on the FAR.
- The CCCM must focus on the UCC.

31NCMA Logo Redesign
- Two focus groups have been conducted to gather
feedback on the current NCMA Logo. Participation
levels were encouraging. While the individual
feedback was diverse, there were three
overarching themes that came as a result. - The logo needs to be refreshed and updated
- Members would like an element of the current logo
to be maintained in the future logo - We should remove the pentagon from the logoit
suggests we are focused solely on DOD.
