What is a verb?

• A verb is a word that expresses motion or
  transition.
• For example
• To Speak, To Eat, To Have, and To Be
• Are ALL Verbs!

• You conjugate verbs everyday but you usually
  dont have to think about it.
• You say I speak, They eat, We are That is verb
  conjugation!

English?To be

• You probably dont speak French so you cannot
  learn this foreign language the same way you
  learned English as a baby.
• You must memorize how the verbs should be spelled
  and their pronunciations.

How do I conjugate a verb in French?

• You first need to know the subject pronouns. Here
  are the singular subject pronouns.

• Je I
• Tu you (singular and informal)
• Il He or it
• Elle She or it

• Here are the plural subject pronouns (that means
  they refer to more than one person).

• Nous We
• Vous You (plural or informal)
• Ils They (masculine or mixed)
• Elles They (feminine)

Tu vs. Vous You might have noticed there are two
subject pronouns that mean you.

• Tu
• Tu is used when speaking to friends and family or
  others your own age. It is singular and informal.

• Vous
• Vous is used when speaking to more than one
  person, someone you dont know very well, or
  someone to whom you wish to show respect. It is
  plural or formal.
