Social Psychology-Lecture 5 Sociobiology Defined

• Sociobiology holds that we are gene producing or
  survival machines with the basic motivation of
  perpetuating our own genetic pool. As a result,
  our behaviour is essentially selfish. Moreover,
  we are unaware of this and that is why we are
  posited to act as machines. However, we do exert
  some control over our own behaviour, particularly
  those behaviours that promote our well-being.
