What is the EFM Program?

• Ensures that service members with dependents
  requiring access to specific medical or
  educational resources will not be relocated to
  installations unable to accommodate them.
• To enroll, schedule an interview with the EFMP
  coordinator at Marine and Family Services.

Assignment Criteria

• Category 1 Generally does not limit assignment
• Category 2 Requires pinpoint assignment
  overseas and within CONUS
• Category 3 No OCONUS assignments
• Category 4 Requires major medical area in
  CONUS

Impact on Relocation

• Accompanied assignments overseas are not affected
  if required medical services are available
• CONUS assignments are approved if needs can be met

Pre-Departure Considerations

• Get organized!
• Update enrollment status
• Schedule overseas screening
• Research resources at new duty station

• Obtain medical and education records
• Plan for special needs during the move
