    compared to 28 (males) and 24 (females) of non
    indigenous Australians
  • While less Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
    peoples drink alcohol (74 vs. 79 or the non
    Indigenous community), those that do drink are
    more likely to do so at hazardous and harmful
    levels.

Governance
  • Be realistic about what can be delivered, to whom
    and by when
  • Be prepared to say no, and to renegotiate
    deliverables if funding is reduced
  • Give priority to planning, evaluation and staff
    development and supervision
  • Read funding agreements thoroughly and be
    prepared to deliver on them
  • If there is a problem, dont leave it until it
    reaches crisis point be proactive in working
    with your funding body to find solutions.
