For Safety Purposes, The Assembly and Operation
of the Improvised Stretcher MUST BE SUPERVISED by
an Officer at ALL TIMES
2Step 1 Lay the Groundsheet on the Ground
3Step 2 Fold the Groundsheet in Half
4Step 3 Place the First Pole in the Middle of
the Groundsheet
5Step 4 Fold the Groundsheet in Half Again
6Step 5 Place the Second Pole in the Middle of
the Groundsheet Parallel to the First Pole
7Step 6 Finally, Fold the Groundsheet in Half
8The Operation of the Improvised Stretcher
For Safety Purposes, The Assembly and Operation
of the Improvised Stretcher MUST BE SUPERVISED by

9Place the Casualty on the Stretcher Ensure that
the Casualtys head and lower body is within the
length of the Pole Method of Casualty Placement
will not be tested in BBAQ(JP)09

1 Casualty, 2 Rescuers Not Allowed The Pole may
not be able to Support the Weight of the Casualty
Rescuers MUST place their hands equally apart
along the pole to support the weight of the
casualty and also to prevent the pole from
breaking.
11Rescuers MUST kneel with one knee on the ground
(further from Pole) and the other leg
perpendicular to the ground (nearer to
Pole). BOTH hands must grip the poles and be
equally spaced.
12Teams will Be Penalised if Rescuers bend their
backs to pick up the Casualty
13Teams will also be Penalised if they did not wait
for the Officers Instruction

- Assemble the Stretcher
- Lift the Casualty
- Transport Casualty
- Alight the Casualty
- Boys Action
- Assemble Stretcher and get ready to lift casualty
- Lift Casualty
- Transports Casualty for a distance of 10m, go
around an object and return to the officer - Boys are to gently alight the Casualty
