Emergency Medical Service Workers
  • First responders are often the first trained
people to treat patients/clients. They provide
emergency medical care before emergency medical
technicians (EMTs) reach the scene. They may be
law enforcement officers, members of the fire
service, company employees, or private citizens.

4
  • Emergency medical technicians are providers of
prehospital medical care in an emergency. A
    heart attack, unscheduled birth, automobile

career opportunities and may work in rescue,
police, and fire departments, ski patrols,
    hospital emergency departments, and private
ambulance services. They must usually work
shifts and weekends. They work inside and
outside in all weather conditions. They may be
    exposed to body fluids.

6
  • Emergency medical service workers must be in good
