  • Emphasise your skills and abilities
  • Education and work experience included as less
    important categories

Chronological
  • Education at the top followed by Work Experience,
organised with most recent date first. Skills and
abilities/ responsibilities etc included in the
work title or very brief descriptions.
  • Suited to new graduates in conventional
professions eg Accountancy when you have followed
    the normal pathway.

7
Combination
  • Include Education and Work experience in
    prominent position and ordered chronologically
but also include a section for Key
Skills/Abilities that highlight your match to the

An Objective

match of skills and experience to the
    requirements of the position.
  • Optional- often overlooked by employer.

9
Resume
  • All non traditional forms of cv can be called a
resume. Both should be no more than 2 pages long
    when sent to the employer.
  • Build a MASTER CV to select from.

10
Templates

Templates dont open?
  • The next slide includes some of the details from
the first cv template- templates do NOT transfer
very well- it is better to use them to get the
idea of different layouts and then to make your
cv/resume in a layout that suits you. Templates
can cause problems when you send your cv as an
email! Plain word documents are safest.
