  • 25 predicted to start in 2008
  • 95 female
  • 30 in slot shares
  • 6 in reduced hours Em Med, genetics, neurology
  • More slot shares have enabled budgetary
    realignment to support other areas

New PMETB approval of supernumerary posts
  • Previous Form B time consuming, burden on
    trainee and trainers
  • New recommendations issued Dec 2007
  • Deanery will work with speciality colleagues
    locally to develop programme prior to submission
  • Deanery submit PMETB form A after proposed
    programme has College approval what is your
    college process? Central? Delegated?
  • QA working with LTFT to develop simple processes
    for new posts
  • Trainee cannot start until approval received
  • Posts must be within the educational capacity of
    location
  • Approved post can subsequently be used for others

    certificate / confirmation note
  • Accept others assessment
  • Wish to train LTFT indicated on equal opportunity
    monitoring form
  • Selectors remain blind
  • Present confirmation of eligibility to STO
  • If appointed, place in slot share when possible
  • Consider reduced hours option
  • Expected to start in full time post if
    supernumerary post not approved before Aug start
    date.

Finally....maternity leave and fixed term posts
  • FTSTA, LAT, LAS and Trust appointed F1 and F2
  • Post ends on date identified on fixed term
    contract
  • Maternity pay by Trust continues until end of
    maternity leave eligibility
  • No right to return if contract has ended whilst
    on maternity leave
  • WAG / Deanery guidance note sent to all Trust HR
    depts December 2007
