Title: NUZUL QURAN
1NUZUL QURAN
2Let us improve our piety (taqwa) and good deeds
by obeying Allahs entire commands and omitting
all the forbidden.
3The word nuzul from the Arabic root word
na-za-la means descended. It also reflects the
meaning of a transfer from a higher to a lower
place. In other words, Nuzul Quran is the event
in which the whole Quran descended from Luuh
Mahfuz (the Preserved Tablet)
4to Baitul Izzah (the lowest heavens of the
world), and then, it descended gradually from
Baitul Izzah to Rasulullah s.a.w. throughout a
period of 23 years, or more accurately 22 years,
2 month and 22 days, by the command of Allah,
through the angel Gabriel.
5According to some historians and some people who
studied hadith, the Quran was revealed on the
17th of Ramadhan, 13 years before Rasulullah
s.a.w. migrated to Madinah, or on the 6th of
August 610 Masihi.
6At that time, Rasulullah s.a.w was 41 years old.
The revelation of the Quran was a significant
event in his life, and therefore the Muslims as
well.
7The Quran is a guidance for mankind revealed by
Allah to His messenger, Muhammad s.a.w, in which
without it human will be at loss and in darkness.
As our Creator, Allah knows that we are in need
of guidance in order to lead a proper life in
this world.
8Therefore, nothing is as important as hidayah
(the guidance from Allah) in the life of a
Muslim. Those who have taqwa (fear Allah, have
God-consciousness) always implore sincerely for
this guidance in the prayers when they recite
surah Al-Fatihah
9Allah S.W.T says in Al-Quran-
???????? ?????????? ?????????????? (?)
(Al-Fatihah 6 )
10Show us the straight path,
11Certainly, the straight path is only by the
guidance of Allah. This guidance protects men
from the deceptions of this world, and therefore
from Allahs anger and wrath. Because of this,
those who truly believe and have taqwa lead their
lives guided by the Quran.
12Allah S.W.T says in Al-Quran-
????? (1) ??????? ??????????? ??? ????????
??????? ?????? ??????????????? (2)
(Al-Baqarah 1 - 2 )
13Alif Lam Mim. This is the Book about which there
is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of
Allah.
14We must make the Quran our companion, by reading
and understanding its message. Merely reading
will not be enough we must also analyze, study,
research and try our best to uncover the divine
knowledge of the Quran.
15Muslims in the past were successful and respected
because they upheld the Quran as their source of
reference. They submitted and followed the
commands of Allah, practiced and perfected their
practices based on the teachings in the Quran,
16and abandoned what Allah prohibited for them. And
sure enough, they successfully emerged out of the
darkness of Jahiliyyah to the beautiful life of
Islam.
17The Quran is the manual, courtesy of our
Creator, on how to conduct our lives in this
world in the best possible manner, and to obtain
the ultimate happiness in the Hereafter.
18It is a book of guidance, it is a book full of
blessing, mercy, it contains cure, it brings
light, and it distinguishes for us the truth from
the falsehood. Therefore, it has every right to
be our source of reference in all aspects of
life, be it politics, economy, social or
knowledge.
19Moreover, unlike any other books in this world,
Allah, the Author of the Quran, has testified
for the completeness of the Quran, when He says
20Allah S.W.T says in Al-Quran-
???? ?????????? ??? ??????????? ??? (??)????????
(Al-Anam 38 )
21We have neglected nothing in the Book,
22Blessed Muslims, The descent and the revelation
of the Quran proved that Rasulullah s.a.w is the
messenger of Allah, and that Islam is from Allah
s.w.t. Throughout history, none was able to deny
the truth of the Quran.
23Up until this very second, no one is able to
claim that the Quran is a created by men. Allah
challenges mankind to create something like the
Quran ever since the Quran was revealed, but
none succeed, and this challenge will stand
unchallenged until the Day of Judgment.
24Allah first dared the Kuffar (disbelievers) to
come up with a book like the Quran when they
doubted and denied it, as Allah s.w.t. says
25Allah S.W.T says in Al-Quran-
??? ???????? ??????????? ???????? ??????????
??????? ??? ????????? ???????? ???????
???????????? ??? ????????? ???????????
??????????? ?????????? ???????? ???????? (?)
(Al-Isra 88 )
26Say "If the mankind and the jinn were together
to produce the like of this Quran, they could
not produce the like thereof, even if they helped
one another."
27Of course, they failed. So, Allah challenged them
to come up with one surah (chapter) like one in
the Quran. Allah s.w.t. says
28Allah S.W.T says in Al-Quran-
????? ??????? ??? ??????? ??????? ??????????
?????? ????????? ????????? ????????? ????
?????????? ?????????? ????????????? ???? ?????
??????? ??? ??????? ??????????? (??)
(Al-Baqarah 23 )
29And if you (Arab pagans, Jews, and Christians)
are in doubt concerning that which We have sent
down (i.e. the Quran) to Our slave (Muhammad
Peace be upon him ),
30then produce a Surah (chapter) of the like
thereof and call your witnesses (supporters and
helpers) besides Allah, if you are truthful.
31And once again, they were unsuccessful. This also
confirmed that the Quran was sent down from
Allah s.w.t., that Muhammad s.a.w. is His
messenger and that Islam is the only religion
accepted by Allah, when He says
32Allah S.W.T says in Al-Quran-
????? ???????? ????? ??????? ??????????????? (19)
(Ali-Imran 19)
33Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam
34Blessed Muslims, The Quran is a noble book and it
is a guide from Allah, thus we Muslims should
always read it. There should not be a day that
goes by without reading it. If it is our habit to
read the news everyday, what about the Quran?
35Reading it daily has even more rights to be our
habit. It is time that we adopt the reading the
Quran as part of our daily activity, so that
when we miss to recite it on certain days, we
will feel empty because of it.
36By reading it everyday, we will learn to love the
Quran, and by loving it more and practicing its
teachings, we will definitely find our strength
as those who believe in Allah.
37The enemy of Islam knows the power that Quran on
the Muslims. Due to this, they will never be at
rest for as long as we hold onto the Quran, try
to understand it, and are devoted in practicing
its teachings.
38They see the Quran as our source of strength,
and by returning to the Quran, we will, without
doubt, acquire our strength. Britains former
Prime Minister once demonstrated this when he
held up the Quran in the Parliament and said
39As long as this book (the Quran) is in the
Muslims hands, the European will not be able to
conquer the Middle East.
40Dearest Brothers in Islam, The Quran is the
fortress of Islam, it protects the authenticity
and the truthfulness of this deen. Islam is our
strength for as long as we hold onto the Quran
and practice its teachings devoutly.
41Once we separate ourselves from it, we will lose
our strength. Thus, it is very important that we
hold onto its teachings. When the Quran is caste
and fixed in our hearts and flourishes in our
souls,
42it will be difficult for any influence that
contradicts the teachings of the Quran to
penetrate us, regardless of where we are. As an
example, let us look at the story of French
colonization of Algeria.
43A test was performed on ten Algerian female
teenagers by the French authority. These ten
girls were brought to France to be educated and
lived in Paris for about 9 years. Following
graduation, they returned to Algeria.
44Consequently, a celebration ceremony was held,
attended by Frenchs elites and reporters. These
students, who were educated in the west, appeared
at the ceremony in the fully covered Algerian
Islamic attire. The guests were shocked, asking
45What have the French done in Algeria for the 128
years of their colonization and still they could
not change the lifestyle of the Algerian? And on
that, the French minister answered, What can we
do, the Quran is stronger than the French.
46Another historical account that also conveys the
same meaning happened when the French was
celebrating the 100th anniversary of their
colonization of Algeria. One of their leaders
said in his speech
47We will not win in Algeria for as long as they
read the Quran and speak the original (Fus-hah)
Arabic language. Therefore, we must eradicate the
Quran in its Arabic written form from here and
remove the Arabic language from their tongue.
48Such are the Muslims when we make the Quran as
our guide we will not be at loss. If our hearts
are not occupied by the Quran, we will be easily
influenced by evil and bad elements, which will
eventually ruin our lives if we do not repent and
remove our Islamic traits.
49Blessed Muslims, In this noble month, let us
enrich our lives by reading the Quran wherever
we are to improve our recitation and our
understanding the Quranic messages. It is also a
good opportunity for us to check our childrens
ability to read the Quran.
50Yes, emphasizing on their academic is important,
but not at the expense of their Quranic and
Islamic learning. Let us adorn our childrens
hearts, especially the teenagers, with the Quran
so that their lives will be one guided by it.
51As Muslims, it is unbefitting that we choose
other than the Quran as a guide to seek for
happiness and security in this world and
ultimately in the Hereafter. Instead, only by
holding on to its teachings and messages that we
attain the happiness and security of both lives.
52Know that the problems that we are facing today
are due to none other than us neglecting the
Allahs warning and reminders in the Quran, as
stated by Imam Hasan Al-Banna in one of his
statement
53Mankind is in darkness that they always fighting
against each other, while they actually own a
light switch in their hands.
54If they turn on the switch, they will have a
light, and they will no longer fight. The light
is the Quran. Why dont the Muslims take the
Quran as their guide in life?
55In conjunction with the event of Nuzul Quran,
let us return to the Quran, ponder upon its
messages and practise its teachings devoutly,
until the day when we return to Him.
56Allah S.W.T says in Al-Quran-
???????? ????????????? ???????? ??????????
????????????????? ???????????? ???????????????????

(Sad 29)
57(This is) a Book (the Quran) which We have sent
down to you, full of blessings that they may
ponder over its Verses, and that men of
understanding may remember.
