Limitations of commercial Nano Clays

• - High concentration of Organic Surfactants
  used at NanoClay modification
• - Insufficient thermal stability of
  Surfactants
• - Products of Surfactants decomposition promote
  the pyrolysis of polymer and increase the amount
  of flammable volatiles
• - Excess of Surfactant effecting as
  plasticizer brings to deterioration in mechanical
  properties of nanocomposites
• Nano Clays intended for use in FR
  compositions need special surface treatment.
